| june 9th, 2009: |
|
At 2:01 a.m. during a sever thunderstorm the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched
to a Littleton Road residence for an automatic fire alarm. While returning the department
was again dispatched to Whippany for a working structure fire on Parsippany Road. The two story wood frame
building was burning in the attic and roof area after it was struck by lightening.
Truck 511 responded and assisted the Whippany Fire Department as seen in the picture below.

| June 3rd, 2009: |
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Laurel Street residence at 4:51 a.m. for a lightning strike
and working house fire. With the department's Thermal Image Camera (TIC) crews discovered a fire between the ground and first floor.
The fire was extinguished and placed under control within twenty minutes. The sole occupant of the home was not injured.

| May 17th, 2009: |
|
The Morris Plains Fire Department, Morris Plains Police Department, and the Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad responded
to a house fire on Stiles Avenue at 3:02 a.m. Upon arrival it was determined that two of the residents had
escaped but a female resident was still in the rear of the home. As patrols entered the rear yard of the home
heavy black smoke was bellowing from the doors and windows. The female victim was located at the kitchen rear
door and assisted by patrols. The MPFD fought the fire and heavy smoke for approximately 45 minutes. One of the
victims was seriously injured, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. The victim was transported
to St. Barnabas Medical Center by the MMMFAS and Atlantic Health Care MICU and remains in critical condition.
Two other residents were transported by the MMMFAS to Morristown Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Two dogs escaped the home unharmed and were turned over to St. Hubert's for care.
The cause of the fire, which left the home uninhabitable due to heavy smoke and heat damage,
is being conducted by Det./Sgt. D'Ambola, Det. Dobbins, the Morris County Prosecutors Arson Investigation Unit
and the Morris County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigation Unit.

| April 27th, 2009: |
|
At 8:10 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched
to Madison for a working structure fire.
The department responded with the Morris County Special Services Truck
and assisted the Madison Fire Department with their SCBA refills.

| April 25th, 2009: |
|
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a
fire on American Road at 11:55 a.m.. Patrols discovered a
utility pole and dumpster on fire. The MPFD extinguished the
blaze and notified Jersey Central Power and Light to respond.

| March 9th, 2009: |
| The Morris Plains
Fire Department, the Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad and the Cedar Knolls First Aid Squad responded
to a Hawthorne Avenue home at 1:34 p.m. for an activated carbon dioxide. Patrols
discovered three victims at the scene complaining of coughing and headaches. The MPFD located a gas
leak in the home. PSE&G was notified and responded to repair the leak. The victims were
treated on-scene and declined to go to the hospital.

| Febauary 24th, 2009: |
|
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded into Morristown to assist
the Morristown fire Department with a working structure fire. The fire was reported at a business
located on Speedwell Avenue, the fire was contained to a dumpster
in the rear of the building.

| Febauary 23rd, 2009: |
|
The Morris Plains Fire Department responded to the
Morris Plains Train station at 6:03 a.m. for the report of a fire on an incoming train. At the
scene it was discovered one of the brakes on the train had overheated. The train suffered no damage.

| Febauary 20th, 2009: |
|
The Morris Plains Fire Department
responded to a local business at 4:23 p.m. for a smoke condidtion. A fire was found in a garbage can.
The fire was contained by the automatic sprinkler system and the room sustained heavy damage.

| Febauary 19th, 2009: |
| At 2:00 a.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department
was dispatched for mutual aid to Intervale Road in Mountain Lakes.
The department responded with the Morris County Special Services and Air Support Truck.

| Febauary 14th, 2009: |
| The Morris Plains
Fire Department responded to a residence on Parker Drive at
4:05 p.m. The caller reported a smoke
condition in the home. The MPFD determined an
electrical problem was causing the situation which
was also effecting a second home on the street.
It is believed the problem was originating from the
utility pole and surging into the homes. Jersey
Central Power & Light was notified and responded.
The scene was turned over to the MPFD.

| Febauary 11th, 2009: |
| The Morris
Plains Fire Department responded to an
active fire alarm with a smoke condition at a local
hotel at 10:33 a.m. The MPFD were able to
determine that a motor in a clothes dryer had malfunctioned
causing the smoke condition. The scene was
turned over to the MPFD.

| December 31th, 2008: |
|
Mayor Frank J. Druetzler and members of the Morris Plains Fire Association draw the
winning raffle ticket on New Years Eve. The winner received a Sony flat screen TV with a surround sound system.

| December 25th, 2008: |
| At 11:30 p.m. the Morris Plains Fire Department was dispatched
for mutual aid to the Hickory Tree Apartments in Chatham Township.
The department responded with the Morris County Special Services and Air Support Truck.
While on scene the department also acted as a FAST team.
